Remedial Massage (RM)

Remedial Massage is a manual soft tissue therapy, providing “a systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management”.

Remedial Massage involves a range of techniques.  We always start with relaxation techniques to ensure the tissue is warm before working deeper into the muscle.  A common misconception with massage is “no pain, no gain”.  If the tissue/muscle is warm before going deep into the area, it allows the tight muscle to release, leading to a reduction of pain and increase range of movement.

Treatment will always start with manual therapy, however other techniques/machines, such as cupping, cold laser or taping may be incorporated to ensure best results for the client.  Before any of these techniques are used, permission will be gained from the client.
