Remedial Massage (RM):

Remedial Massage is a manual soft tissue therapy, providing “a systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management”. Your consultation will begin with an assessment looking at your Range of Movement (ROM), pain levels, what you want out of the treatment and general wellbeing to assess what area(s) need to be treated. Quite often the muscle that is sore is not the muscle responsible for the pain.

Remedial Massage involves a range of techniques. We always start with Relaxation techniques to ensure the tissue is warm before working deeper into the muscle. A common misconception with massage is “no pain, no gain”. We strongly believe this is not correct for best results. If the tissue/muscle is warm before going deep into the area, it allows the tight muscle ‘knots’ to release, leading to a reduction of pain and increase range of movement.

Benefits of Remedial Massage:

Reduced muscle tension
Increased joint mobility and flexibility
Improved circulation
Reduction of stress hormones
Relaxation
Improved recovery of soft tissue injuries
Reduced anxiety and depression
